Blender 2.49 RC3 has just been released. Like last time there are no release notes, so we can't tell you what's been fixed, which can't be very motivating for testers and bug reporters... Anyway - enjoy!

Release early, release often...and what we really should have is people to read the SVN commits and summarise the changelog in human-understandable terms! That's my suggestion - it'll also allow the coders to work on coding instead of these petty release notes!
Ding - Ding - who's there? ( Destiny! ) Huh I have been waiting for you.....
finally i can use it on my g5 thank you
I can't wait fot the final 2.49 version!!!
thank you
Did anyone notice that RC2 version crashed a lot more? Particularly in large renders over 5000 pixels wide.
Cheers!
Why is it that when I install this, the splash screen still says 2.48a? Even when I uninstall and reinstall?
Oh sorry that's the Windows 32 bit python 2.6 version. :)
Well the first thing I noticed is that for render options, yaffray is gone. I don't know if it was removed for the job of refactoring the render-output code, but I have some blend files that really look a lot better with yaffray, and its nowhere to be seen (linux py626, x86_64, dynamic).
RNS is quickly becoming the crazy uncle you don't talk to, you only talk about.
It's mainly GE additions and bug fixes..

Icono, it's fun to be crazy. crazy people know more than normal people do.Bobster don't worry it will be added later due to re fixed issues.
I have just noticed something very annoying in Blender v2.48a, and after some tests, the bug is also present in v2.49 RC3 (Windows Zip version for Python 2.5 and 2.6 as well):
When you are drawing on an image in the Image editor, using a graphic tablet, when you hit the render Key F12 or the RENDER button in the GUI, you loose the pressure sensitivity.
The only way to get it again is to switch off Blender and open it again.
When you are drawing an alpha mask ovef video frames, you have to render frequently to control the quality of the mask, this bug really breaks the workflow and makes the work very tedious.
I have tested it on two computers under Windows XP Home Edition SP2 and Windows XP Pro SP2. I have noticed the same behaviour with a Wacom Graphire 2 and an Intuos 4 XL.
I hope that this problem will find a solution and that it is not too late for 2.49...
I have reported a bug to the bugtracker, but it doesn't appear in the list. Maybe it has to be validated before.
In the doubt, I have also written a post on Blenderartists.
Good luck Blender coders and Courage !o)
Thanks for your efforts !

Leave your bug-report at the right adress:

That helps better then to leave it here.
@bobster yafray is been removed from Blender as yafray is no longer been developed and has been replaced by yafaray which uses a python script to export its scenes out of Blender. check out the yafaray website for more info, you choice is to either migrate to yafaray or use an older release of Blender should you still need yafray.
@Eelko Gielis : Thanks for the link !
