I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. looks nice!

funny how the movie always looks to be longer the first time than the second time. must be because it's all new the first time.

Really cool, wonder how he did it. I'm guessing alot of work in the compositor, some post - production work outside of Blender, and to actually model the shapes I have no idea.

  3. Whoa! you can get your videos on blendernation even if you use only 2 simple techniques?

Though it is good inspiration for those new to blender :)

I not gonna give a try on this but,
the cube have only the cube form ,others are only something else .
Better if the something else changes to triangle, sphere, and back to cube form .
For made it forms on something changes .

    Its looks simple like this...

Keep the cube to rotate and scale it down ,
when other form scaled up appear rotating and keep that loop to any forms you want .
Then back to the cube again .

    Thanks .

  5. Thank you to all of you for your kindly words and for your comments!
I'm slowly trying to switch to Blender from another 3D app and this is part of the early studies.
I'm conscious of the thing there's no big concept behind this short clip, sorry for that, it's just a way to discover Blender's features :)

    A few tech details.
Basically it's a test done to play with the shape keys.
The light fx is done with the node editor, here's a screen shot:

Unfortunately I didn't find a way to gain the final look in a predictable way, so it's more like a try and render process.

I'd love to see that re-rendered with some kind of grid texture to see what was happening in the UV space.
