I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Go - incredible. That's what it's ment for.
Make crazy things with technology. Yes
    never mind unreachable ambitions.
This is what it's all about. Make fun of it
and take chances. Great work, incredible tool
unbelievable people creating it. Blender is new
reality! It's more than free software, it's
freedom of mind and thoughts. Something
going beyond speech. It' simply good.
    Blender go!

  2. awe, another 'first post' just for the sake of a first post :(

The movie might be a bit to long, might have been cooler as a 6-part miniseries.

  3. Magiciandude on

    Animation could use vast improvement.

The person is too robotic. Needs to be more believable.

I also don't like the making fun or Pixar aspect.

  4. I think it's not necessary to have a daily new first post if it doesn't really deserve it. I have seen this animation and I think the jokes are not so funny, I also think the animation is sticky and unnatural, it doesn't flows quite well. But I must say the models and the renders are really great. I think Bertheau Thierry has a bright future, but I think blendernation shouldn't make a post just because something is made in blender. Anyway, good job Bertheau Thierry!

  5. People are being a bit to stubborn here... so what he's making fun of Pixar, that's been done to practically every other company. Although at times it does seem long and pointless, it's not at all unbearable.

  6. I honestly must say that that I found it unbearable others may disagree. dont get me wrong, I dont mind some one poking fun at pixar i could honestly care less but this video was stupid. This guy could have made something worth while, something that could have inspired someone, but he did not he chose to waste time on a 6 minute bore fest. After round 3 I was done.

  7. believed it or not some of the best animators started out like this in their career.Critic some time can put artist on the right path to get better.

  8. Georges
    I'm a bad boy....
    Georges I'm so stupid.............

    Sorry Georges....
i drink so much ricar Georges, after i don't know what i do.

  9. Beside what the others already have been saying - I think what gets most on my nerves is music and sound. It's too dynamic and too agressive. Just "too". In my eyes it would be better to give more sounds to the move of the character and quit the techno scape.

  10. I laughed. But of course, I will laugh at Bugs Bunny getting Elmer Fudd over and over again. It's funny. Laugh. Ha.

  11. I agree with Salvador. I wanna add it's terrible awfull, the animation it's horrible, unnatural, boring, RNS said some good animators started out like this.. I agree... but... I don't think this deserve to be the first post.
Come on guys, I applaude people trying to do this things.. but I say it again, THis short doesnt deserve a post....
You guys always say you wanna blender being respected from another 3d software users, You cant it`s really awfull

    Nothing personal

  12. People worried about Blender being "respected" need to lighten up. Users of other packages aren't reading Blendernation trying to judge Blender based on every individual person's work with it, and if they are, they need to spend their time better. Personally, I couldn't care less whether non-Blender users "respect" Blender, but anyway the way to gain their respect isn't to sit around and tear down other Blender users' work on Internet forums.

If you don't like something, that's fine. Expressing your opinion is fine too, and if you do it constructively it's especially welcome. But don't question Bart's decision to post it. As long as a few readers found it worthwhile (and they did) then it was plenty worthwhile. If you don't like a particular post, sit tight, there will always be another post in a couple hours.

  13. Good model, nice work, but a little bit boring and predictable. Sorry, but it lacks some rythm...

  14. i like this movie quite alot,
it has great jokes a nice bit of anarchy pourred into and with the music its got some odd charme to it,
tho i don't get the character of the guy completely, i enjoyed his struggle with the logo quite a lot:)

regardless of all the negative comments, i liked it alot and i bet it'S been a lot of work to make it all up synch it and so on
    cool stuff!!!
