Yo Frankie - Level Competition

7

Campell Barton (Ideasman42) has started a new contest in the wake of the successful release of Yo Frankie. The aim of the contest is to develop a new level for the game, and there's prizes up for grabs for those who do best!

Campell writes:

"To kickstart some new levels for Yo-Frankie I have decided to run a six week competition to create new levels for the game. These can then be included in a future release of YoFrankie, which will include updates for the next blender release and bugfixes."

There's a page on the Apricot Blog, so make sure to check it out. It has details on everything you need to know about the contest, including the goals you should be aiming for, rules, judging and many other handy tips. There's also a thread on Blenderartists for general discussion and questions.

The prizes are as follows:

First Prize 250 Euro
Second Prize 150 Euro
Third Prize 100 Euro

The contest starts January 16th, and all entries must be submitted by the 28th of February.

So goodluck to all contestants, it will be interesting to see what the community can come up with!

  1. This is awesome, and it would be sweet to design a level for a game, but I am not confident enough (or want to spend that much time on it.) Anyhow, it's sweet tho, and maybe for a different game I will try to design some levels? Aaaanyhoo, cheers to the Apricot Team and anyone who enters in the competition.

  2. I would have to learn a lot, and if I got an awesome result I suppose I wouldn't mind spending the time as much. Anyhow, as before, I wish the contestants the best!

  3. Awesome! Great Campbell :)

mercury: no hace falta que tengas una gran maquina, GLSL no es requisito, si te corre la versión sin Shaders (desde el menú Options) entonces puedes entrar :)

btw, no need for a super machine, GLSL is not mandatory, as stated in the blogpost.
