Reynante M. Martinez reports in on the Blender meeting in the Phillipines. It looks live everybody had a great time, except for the girl in picture #9 ;-)

Reynante wrote:

I just wanted to share with you a small event we held last December 3 here in the Philippines. It was an initial meetup of some of the members of our Filipino Blender Community and it was a success. We're planning on organizing another larger meetup early next year.

Please head over to our blog for the complete info and photos of the said meetup.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Congratulations on a fine event.

@blendenzo: what a bloody ignorant thing to say. I hope this is some troll and not the blendenzo who is a moderator at BA.

  2. That wasn't me. That is all I have to say at the moment. There is no authentication system on this site, and just because you see someone's name, it doesn't mean they were the one who said it.

    What an a**hole!
    Blendenzo, grow the f*ck up.
I am sick of you coming here every time you get drunk, and spouting off. It is apparent that you re just causing trouble.
As Tony said in the other section, "The Joke is getting really old!".

I vote that next time he spouts off, you guys ban his IP address so he cant post here any more.

  4. @Everyone: please hold back your fiery comments against Blendenzo - he may be being impersonated on this website and until proven guilty I think we should hold back any fire we have to scorch him with. I myself think he's innocent, that someone else is posing as him. Please take his comments with a grain of salt until this whole thing is cleaned up.

    Thanks,
    Banor

  5. Admar,

Here is how you can get a personal apology from "blendenzo" for "this outrage." Go to the "Leave a Reply" section below and type the following information:

    Name: blendenzo
Mail: my known public email address (you can find it on my website)
    Website: http://blendenzo.com

Then type out the apology for yourself and hit the submit button. It's that easy to pretend that you are "blendenzo". It was just as easy two weeks ago as it is today. BTW, if a Filipino family did live down the street from me (which is not the case to the best of my knowledge) I would never say anything so hateful about them.

    Reynante:
I'm truly glad to hear of your successful meeting. I hope that your next meeting is just as much fun :)

  6. Hello!
@Sir Reynante , congratulations for the success of the meet up too bad I was not able to join due to my class. I hope the next meet up will be held during vacations so I could have a chance to come.
    Congratulations. Mabuhay ang Blender!

  7. Anonymous users should now no longer be able to post under the name of a registered user. Please test well. If you find problems, please mail bart @ this site. Thanks!

@blendenzo: I've cleared out all the crap comments and indicated that they were left by an imposter and banned him.

  8. Alex Delderfield (AD-Edge) on

Good to see the impostor banned, it was starting to get a bit out of control. I hope their gone, for good.

--We now welcome the real Blendenzo to Blendernation--

As for the article, its nice to see all of these meetings taking place. I wouldnt mind one happening in my local area, it would be nice to meet up with people who share the same interest with Blender. Nice work!
