Blender goes to PyArkansas

Gordon Fisher wrote: "The Python Artists of Arkansas put on PyArkansas on October 4, 2008 on the campus of University of Central Arkansas. Over 70 attendees came from as far away as Missouri, Texas and Georgia. Classes covered a variety of topics including pyGame, Python Eggs, Python Standard Library, Python for Unix/Linix System Administration as well as basic Python programming and a tour of Python Concepts. There were also open sessions. Gordon Fisher of Little Rock gave a demonstration on how Python integrates into Blender. He showed how easy it was to load and use Python scripts in Blender and how powerful they could be."

BBB in Vienna Cinema Foyer

Tobias Kummer wrote: "I just saw that the "Lugner Kino City" in Vienna shows BBB in the foyer... That's a pretty big cinema with 14 auditoriums. BBB is shown on flatscreens throughout the foyers on endless repeat :)"

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. my website is on a webserver. this server is NOT mine and NOT at my house. it is meant for websites. should i be able to execute a server program like the one in "Setting up a server for a blender Game" on such a server or not? thanks in advance. :D

  2. If you set up a web server at home, check with your ISP and type of service you have. Some ISP's will block certain ports, while others might not block but the service agreement says you can't have services.

    Good Luck indeed.

  3. The ad. you published for Prop. 8 (in California) is a bit unnerving. What happened to
free speech, civil rights, consenting adults? I thought all these issues were settled
and resolved decades ago. I just can't believe you endorse this proposition. We can't pick
& choose our family partners ourselves? And the films we make? Somebody looking
over my shoulder to check the subject matter of my work, looking for illegality? I think not!

  4. @Alexeiff: those ads are automatically selected by Google, we don't get to 'approve' them. However, we can block them if we know the URL or domainname - if you see it again, please mail that info to [email protected] and I'll make sure it gets blocked.
