Dwayne Ferguson (aka Hunter) has started working on a animation following his own take on the original horror story 'The Tell-Tale Heart' written by Edgar Allen Poe and first published in 1843.
Dwayne has been best known for creating the popular comic book series Hamster Vice and as the art director for the TV cartoon Mutant League, now he turns his attention to this new animation.
The style of the Larynx version of Edgar Poe's original story takes many cues from Japanese horror movies such as 'The Grudge' and 'The Ring' meaning that 'Ferguson's retelling will send shivers up the spine and make a cartoon give you a reason to sleep with the lights on.'
Dwayne explains on his blog:
"Like many others I have become a fan of this master of suspense, terror and dementia. I thought I'd have a little fun and create a retelling of the story, the Tell-tale Heart, but make it a little scarier, eerier and all out wrong-er."
Unfortunately we don't see many animations of this genre produced using Blender, so its a relatively unique project to see in development.
Make sure to keep updated by checking out the blog and the many other sections on Dwayne's site.

First!
"'Like many others I have become a fan of this master of suspense, terror and dementia'..."
it's like Elephant's Dream... only weirder and scarier!
well, I hope it turns out as good as Elephant's Dream! (graphics wise)
It's neat to see a story like this being made in Blender - even though I don't like the creepy, dark, vile contortions it may bring, the art style (if the texture and modeling quality - not realism, but quality - is brought up) is very nice...
Well, anyhow.. don't like the dark side of it, but like the artistic, well-done part of it. (If that makes any sense whatsover.)
Thanks! God bless, ciao,

quick note : fix the download 2.48 is still in 2.47 in download page.
I kinda likte the idea of something scary made in 3d. the spooky effects can have a much greater influence on the story.
That will be something!
amdbcg why you! Erere you first EREE!
:-)
Just to be annoying, it's Edgar ALLAN Poe ;-).
Hi guys,
Thanks for the comments. I'm having a great time working on this project. Oh, VanPelt, I have some minor dyslexia and changed the name on the site to "Allan". haha.
Talk to you guys soon:)

^^" meh... the old man looks already creepy on his own...
Well I like creepy stuff... But when I say creepy, I mean really really creepy... Pretty much nothing scares me in films, so it'll have to be pretty good if it's gonna get my seal of approval!... :P
That is really freaky. I read the story, but I don't think I'd watch the movie.

Hey all,
Thanks so much for all the emails and comments. I'm currently modeling the staircase and the mansion. I received an email this morning from someone asking me to put a raven somewhere in the animation.
So I go to my front door to check my mail and, by chance, take a peek outside first. There are two ravens in my front yard.
Cool and scary at the same time. Someone hold meeeeee.
