"Video game enthusiasts from the Midlands have taken part in a project to create their own video game from scratch in Birmingham."

This video was shot at this year's Dare to be Digital contest. We got in touch with the team that used Blender and walked away with one of the three prizes of £2,500! Full report on that tomorrow later this week.

Check out the video here.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Cool! Awesome! It's really neat that team was using Blender, too. I would like to know how to make video games myself. I've had quite a lot of interest in that in the past... oh well, maybe I will create a great game someday... now the focus is film (at least for the digital world.)
