German DVD tutoring publisher Video2Brain released a DVD called "Blender Video-Training".
Dominic wrote:
The training contents a complete first-steps-and-around course for German-speaking beginners. The contents:
- GUI of Blender
- First Steps
- Modeling of Objects
- Materials
- Scene Building
- Animation
- Rendering and Output
...all on a basic level for basic users. A sequel DVD with more progressive chapters like Sculpt, Particles or Game Engine is depending on the resonance of the market
There's a sample video on their website, minus the voiceover, unfortunately. From the looks of things, this is a professional product. If anyone is interested in doing a review for us, let us know and I'll try to get hold of a press copy!

looks very professional and comprehensive. it would be a great way for beginners to get up to speed in a short time.
i have already bought that dvd a few weeks ago.
its well done and explains the basics step by step. mr maus even gives some technical explanations on how 3d programs work in general.
things i missed were how to set up some more complex shaders (but maybe thats hard to do in blender anyway?) and basic bone animation.
its still amazing how fast you can learn by watching a dvd. coming from cinema 4d i use blender for all my organic modelling now..
A video interview with the trainer:

I hope you will have fun with this DVD. After 16 hours the publisher stopped me, so some of the advanced stuff isn't on the DVD. Maybe in a later publication. More informations on my webpage http://www.hmaus.de.
Have fun with Blender :-)
