Amazon.com has published a 'Boutique' on 3D animation books featuring five prominent authors. One of them is none other than our own Tony Mullen!
Amazon and Sybex have put together a "3D Animation Boutique" to promote several of Sybex's 3D titles in advance of Siggraph. They asked me to be part of it by providing some artwork by my favorite Blender artists. You can see the resulting page here (scroll down the page for my part).
There are a couple of interesting things here. There is a link to a page featuring artwork by some of my favorite Blender artists, a link to a free pdf chapter of Bounce, Tumble and Splash! (It happens to be the hair chapter, which is a really nice one, I think!) and finally a list of other Blender books available or coming soon from Wiley. This is interesting, because one of those books has not yet been announced anywhere and I think it will come as a pleasant surprise to a lot of Blendernation readers.
Thanks very much to Katsuhiku Omori (Ekakiya), Virgilio Vasconcelos, and Jonathan Ball (Poke) for allowing me to use their images for this promotion.
very nice! :)
Congrats to fweeb, will be a nice addition to get people into blender.
And to you too of course, Tony. Your books are great.
why aren't there any examples of Andy Goralczyk's work?
I highly recommend this book.only issues is the test files some do not work with the current blender baking system.
thx tony, looking at the hair chapter this book contains alot of usefull blender info.
Good luck with the sale of it.
Yes, Tony Mullen's books are great :
I am currently reading "Bounce, Tumble and Splash", and I must say that things are very well explained, and the examples are of top quality.
Thank you Tony !
Heh, congratulations Tony!
You really know you've "arrived" when you see a "for dummies" book on blender. Hilarious. I love it. Can't wait.
Thanks for the comments everybody. I made a mistake there (hopefully it will be corrected soon) with the spelling of Katsuhiko Omori (hope I got it right this time!)
congratulations blender man :)
