I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. @PavelSiska: I guess it's already enough work as it is for them, and fortunately there's always Blender Art Magazine for the rest of us :)

  2. I think there's now magazines in English, German, Russian and Italian (and I'm sure there's a couple of others around). I wonder if we could set up a sort of translation market where the respective communities could trade translations of the different magazines? Should be doable with enough bilingual readers and an editor who speaks each language.

    (I know, I know - easier said then done!)

  3. @Bart: Blender Art Magazine is the best, we all know that :)

    @anthony: ;) very funny :P

    @CorsairX: Very good idea. I have something like this on my mind. And agree it is very hard to make it come true.... I can offer only Czech-English translations (ehhhh......Thanks God that Czech language is out off game :D )

  4. Hi, I'm italian member of the Blender Magazine Italia, I have asked the italian community for a English translation, but is very hard to receive response because the active member ar 15-20.

    My english is very bad and I can't translate it.

    bye.

  5. i always thought the english blenderart magazine was too big..
    this one is just 7 pages long which just gives you these little news and little extra few things that are cool to know..

  6. This looks so much prettier than BAM. I was just reading issue 14 today.. er.. skimming rather. There are so many horrible spelling mistakes I can't to ever actually read it. Also, they always seem to cover topics that are really outdated. How to make a lightsaber? Do you really expect anyone to need to know when there are a thousand of those tutorials already?

    This issue is fantastic! I learned a lot about the *world* of blender through pictures. I've never been brave enough to try kerkythea, but now I've kind of seen what it's like to use. A very visual GUI compared to indigo's which doesn't even support much in the way of texture maps.

    Also, I argue the art was better.
