After a long stint of inactivity, finally a new movie has been added to the blender.org movies gallery. The added movie is Bounce to space by Pablo vazquez (VenomGFX).
Pablo also has a very nice making of video on his website:
http://www.venomgfx.com.ar/
Now, this is just one single movie. The gallery could really do with a couple more new additions, since most of it is rather outdated. Thus a submission form has been added here:
http://www.blender.org/features-gallery/movies/submit-a-movie/
Remember though, that this isn't like a normal user gallery, we are really looking for things that people that don't use Blender yet can look at, and make them go "OMG that's made with Blender? I need that software!". The page is really meant as a showcase of some of the best ever works. Nor should the submissions be very long. Putting a full length movie on there simply isn't an option.
Submitting a movie through that form also submits it for this years Blender Conference Art Festival and Suzanne Awards, so even if it's not something for the movies page, you can submit it for that.
Also, if you happen to know of a great video that you think ought to be added, just leave a comment/link here at BlenderNation and I will pick up on it.

As usual, great design and color, and very your compositing and title works is very properly done.
I agree with Imer about asking to more new author ; their film on the blender.org ( the oldies looks very .... vintage ? )
Is their a problem about license ?
( I heard of a blender artistic license to agree to share work on blender.org, there is long time ago... )
nice! did VenomGFX ever make anything *not perfect*?
Grosooooooooo
So fun, I like it xD
Love the homage to Chuck Jones!
When I downloaded it all I got was the audio.
Try updating your codecs to the last version avaiable, because I can see the movie without problems
Nice to see there's interest in updating the movies gallery. However, my questions is why hasn't the stills gallery been updated since December?
Movies are great and if they're well done they certainly have that "OMG" factor. But in my opinion stills galleries are where people go to browse and see what Blender can do. Download times for movies make people less likely to wait to view them, whereas many stills in a gallery can be flipped through easily.
There was some really amazing stuff in the November/December stills galleries. It's a shame there's been no new additions. And the longer the gallery areas stagnate, the less likely Blender artists will bother sending in entries.
Come on, guys! Lets see some new eye candy!
wonderful!
Never mind, I got it. Downloaded VLC. Thanks! Maybe I will be able to submit a video someday...
Is there a time or file size limit? I am working on a short film that should be at about 15 minutes in total when complete (http://www.thefilthyspoon.blogspot.com).
Awesome vid!
But I wonder when will the image gallery also get updated... It ain't Christmas anymore... well, it depends on your point of view :p
Pablo, another great video! I like your imagination and style.
Thanks folks for the new links. I received a few submissions through the form as well. I'll have a look at all of it later this week.
Daniel & Jason are in charge of the image gallery and have been working on it. Shouldn't be too long now I think. Though there will be a few changes there.
JW: 15min is really a bit too long for the gallery, as was orion tear. Of course, it may not be a bad idea for someone to set up a movie links page for "all" movies made with blender.

Awesome video! The whole style is just perfectly executed.
Ditto on the Image Gallery comments.
Can't wait to see the news - Blender gallery finally updated (I mean - stills). Does anybody know what is going on?
Bounce to Space is very nice indeed. Cool to see it in the Gallery. :)
Here is my shot: http://www.vimeo.com/690767
Take a look ;)
@Filipe Soares Dilly : nice job ;-)
In my opinion the video orion tear ( http://www.blendernation.com/2008/03/26/short-animation-orion-tear/ ) must be in the blender.org movies gallery.
open source FTW!
How about Monster Movie by chipmasque?
http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=101698
And City Movie by squareline?

If this were longer, it would win at festivals (I'm not kidding). The whole style of the film is very fun. I know its hard to do things long, but if it were longer, it would be everywhere. At the very least, it can inspire in the movie gallery.
Thanks Imer :)
Smasher Pablo, as always, a great Movie
Wonderful work, Pablo! Everything about it was exceptional!
ArtIsLight, I got the same problem you did: No video but perfect sound. The link to the movie at http://www.blender.org/features-gallery/movies/ states, in parentheses, "8MB Xvid Avi". Well, I have the latest Xvid codec installed. The file opens in Windows Media Player and for about a second before playing, the message "Acquiring codec..." immediately followed by "Codec acquired" appears in the lower left (status area) of the window.
What on earth is going on?
Never mind - problem solved. I simply downloaded and installed VLC media player which worked flawlessly.
I don't understand what happened today, am unable to access the blender and bigbuckbunny sites it shows 500 internal error so its my bad luck that I cant watch it right now. am from India Blender fan (May 24 2008)
