This script allows the user to quickly create various types of screw fasteners.
Created by spudmn, he writes:
This version is very much a work in progress. [It's] unpolished and doesn't do much error checking. Therefore if the user sets strange variables, the model created will be as equally strange.
For best results set the material to smooth and apply a Edge Split modifier with default settings.
Unpolished or not, it's a cool script and works fine.

very cool! :)
this could be handy for me
Those bolts look quite polished to me! :)
V. Clever script!
fantastic!
I just played with it for a while, but it will be a huge timesaver when building mechanical objects ( or frankenstein )
What a great script! Thank you very much.
Great script !
The number of vertices in generated bolts is high, but when you need a close up view to some details in a mechanic, there are generally few objects in the scene, so it is not a problem.
Thank you for this mavellous tool !
funny script!
good work!
thank you very much! this will be very handy!

Nice. Thanks. Good job spudmn!
Very nice. Thanks!
sweetr!!!
I've got a new system that will finally let me enjoy these things...
talk about getting screwed!
This could be an interesting new direction(more of an additional branch) to blender. Many CAD programs that are specifically designed for architectural or mechanical design have buttons that have pre-set object associated with them. For instance, in an architectural CAD program, you would have a button that draws a picture window at a specific location. You could have the same thing in Blender with some form of this script. You could start a script up that is specifically programmed to draw or construct a window. This script would give you a list of pre-set window designs. You would tell it which one to draw or construct and it would make it for you.
Just a thought.
i love it
I like the addon but wonder why its limited to 50 mm for thread length and other size limitations. I would like to be able to print up to 600 mm lengths.
