1

gsoc-08001.jpgFrom Ben Hodges: "I'm just writing to help spread the word about this year's Trainings on Open Source Multimedia Instruments or TOSMI. TOSMI is a part of MEDIA, the European Union's support programme for the European audiovisual industry and is designed to introduce media professionals to the benefits and possibilities of an open source pipeline in audio-video production.

Last year the trainings included general Blender techniques, compositing, and post production. This year there are three separate weeks of training or modules. Two of these will focus on Blender, the first with a general focus on blender and the last with an emphasis on advanced Blender techniques, Python scripting, physics simulation, and external renderers. The second module is about distributing media content on line and does not involve blender."

TOSMI 08 is currently accepting applications from the European Union and Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Lichtenstein. The target group are professionals working in the fields of 3D CGI, post-production, video editing, animation, advertising and those simply interested in improving their knowledge of blender. To apply and for more information, please see the project's website
www.tosmi.org or contact info[at]tosmi.org
