nathan-is-happy003.jpgAt blender.org we are updating the sections of the site that list professionals, artists, communities and educational sites related to Blender.

The guidelines for the sections are as follows

All sites need to be your own domain name, not a free site. The quality of the site needs to such that it reflects well on the Blender Foundation to list it, this is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of all artists, educators, and professionals related to Blender.

1) Professionals - this section is for those offering professional services related to Blender, such as website design, animation services, etc.

Professionals should have sufficient credentials on their website so they can be verified to be real people and/or an actual registered legal entity.

2) Artists - this is for artists using Blender - a site suitable for this section should have a gallery of artwork done by the artist in Blender (ie not a site dedicated primarily to 2D work, and not a site dedicated to primarily work done in other 3D applications) , a least some of the art should be comparable in quality to what can be seen in the gallery hosted at blender.org (ie a beginning artist is not a suitable candidate for being listed).

3) Education - this is for substantial educational resources related to Blender - either as part of educational courses, or for professional training.

4) Community - this is for community oriented sites such as blenderartists.org - the site should offer something of benefit to the blender community that isn't already available at other blender community sites - such as offering an additional language for discussing blender.

You can submit your site here, and the requirements are listed along the left.

I think it's a pity. Websites' qualities don't depends on whether they are free-hosted or not, do them?
Many Blender artists don't see the point having their own domain name just for some 3D images, whatever they look awesome or not. Can there be some exceptions?

  3. @Yorik: please check your account and the terms of orgfree.com, your page is banned by the owner at the moment. Such things might be the reason why Ton wants owned domains...

  4. Yeah i have Kjell. And i did it again now. I can understand the fundation have had some other things to do the last past months but the blender.org site is very outdated in certain places.

  5. Well I’m having a free Website http://www.wsag.ch.vu so I guess I don’t qualify!!!!
Even if many Blender Users are having Great Interest in the Education Tutorial about Network Games Made whit Blender on my Website.... I think that it is just not fair... I can’t afford an own domain... Mainly because I offer all my Work for free...

  6. I now finally have a own Domain http://www.oldjim.ch
And this allows me to host my WSAG (A Solid Multi Player Online Network using Blender) Project professional now. This Project contains a lot of Blends and tutorials on how to make a Multiplayer Game using Blender.

Hope that it will be listed at At blender.org soon.
    I just summited my site.
