A (first) introduction to architecture modeling with Blender

20

arch-building001.jpgHere's an excellent tutorial by Yorik van Havre for modeling a High Rise Building

From Yorik:
"This tutorial is a general but step-by-step introduction to quick architecture modeling with Blender. It is focused primarily on architects who never really used Blender but know some 3D and who want to see how Blender can be used for their particular work.

Blender users who are not used to architecture might find it useful too, although probably very simple. I will try to go slowly and explain everything, but there will be a couple of little things you will need to find out yourself... I am sure it is not hard and by searching a bit you'll quickly find your way."

  1. Thanks guys!
A couple of things I wrote about got lost in that crash... Certainly some kind of conspiration! To who liked this tutorial, I'm writing a new one now about doing high-precision architecture modelling, I'll report here dutifully when it's finished. I hope my site will resist blendernation assault this time...

  2. Hi, all! I'm a brazilian student and I'm doing a research in my University course about the development of the Blender. The research seeks examine the mode of development of Blender and also the profile of users and how they collaborate with Blender.

I would like that Blender users participate of this research responding to the form on page http://blenderresearch.myurl.com.br . There are few questions that may represent a major collaboration for the development of more free/open source software.

  3. what a coincidence I just pointed a girl who wanted to model houses to this same tut on the cgnet blender Forum. Realy good tut informative and well written Thx Yorik maybe you can do another one on transparant glass shadows some day. ;)

Yes this has been posted some month or even more before. But IMHO it does not matter because it is such a good ressource for all people working on Architecture and using Blender.
