Here's another timelapse video created by Jonathan Williamson. The original modeling time was about one hour and the timelapse video cones in at just under ten minutes.
- Here's the timelapse video's blog post.
- Also, be sure to check out Jonathan's website for more modeling videos.

yay - Im first, wow man, you make it look so easy
That i call a workflow ! Great!!!
man.... it's videos like these that really makes me see how much i suck :P
Quite Nice!
I wish I had 10 percent of his modeling capacity. This would take me days and days and days. And even then would the result be disappointing.
Good video! It's more or less the way I should do it. Although I would extrude more often and join the double vertices instead of filling holes up with the f key.
Thank you for sharing!

If you want to be a good modeler you need to know your anatomy!!!
If you want to be a good modeler you need to practice !!!!
Powerful workflow........Blender Always ROCKS!!!
I've seen mr_bomb model before and I'm pretty sure this is not a time lapse-- in fact, he may have had to slow the video down so people could see it properly.
Correct me if I'm wrong ... but on my computer the vid comes in at just OVER ten minutes -by several seconds, rather than UNDER! I know my clock runs fast, but not THAT fast! :) :)
Cool vid though. The head bit I'm familiar with but it was interesting to see how he did the gums and teeth! My only crits would be:
1) Clever idea to copy the top teeth for the bottom also, but in reality, if the 'being' (whatever it's supposed to be) were to close its mouth, the long teeth would meet together long before the mouth was shut!! It's kinda noticable too once it's pointed out! Maybe if the bottom teeth were scaled outwards/inwards a bit and maybe tweaked slightly too...
2) The ears seem slightly obscure, but this may be an oversight on the part of original design rather than the actual modelling, which I thought turned out quite good!
Nice vid, and thanks for sharing with the community! Keep up the great modelling! :D
~epat. :)
If you have a plan than only the time will be a problem.
Nice work, very nice ....
Haha, yeah, I agree with Thondal... I just feel like crap when I see these videos.
That's a compliment, by the way. Very impressive.
Thank you everyone for the great feedback, it's comments like these that keep me producing these kind of videos :)
Like epat, I found the bottom teeth a little off. In primates with large canines there is a diastema, or space for the canines to slide into when the mouth closes. In addition, there is usually a sectorial P3 tooth immediately behind the diastema which is uniquely shaped and acts to sharpen the canines when the mouth closes. You can see this clearly if you go to eskeltons.com and select the baboon taxon and then choose mandible.
I love timelapse videos. It usual gives me hints about how to do things during modelling without going through a long (and tedious) tutorial.
Jonathan Williamson Thanks Very Much! Great tutorial!
I've soooo got to get off my lazy butt and start doing some modelling again. Thanks for the video though, it's inspired me to get and do some more head modelling tutorials and to give this all another go.
PS: Your Model looks great! Very sexy.
Yes, please gentlemen. Keep the tutorials coming. It's all we newbies have to look forward in life.
Sometimes I have this feeling that there might be something better to do in life than sit around and watch blender videos, but I just watch enough and the feeling passes.
