  1. It's sooo logical! Why didn't anyone else think of this?!?! Why didn't I?!?!.... simply genius. 2 thumbs up, a gold star and a cookie!

  2. What I really want to do is be able to export the camera rotations as telemetry data. This way, you could make 3d video simulations for use with a motion simulator controller/program seamlessly within blender. (www.x-simulator.de)

Oh, and yes... Aussiedude... it was a forehead slapping moment. "DUH!!!"

  3. haven't read the page yet, but it sounds really great. This though not new, can really make or break a short story animation. A novel way to do it, but im missing the small jitters that usually comes with handhelds.

  4. It works very well for the bumper-cam of a racing/space game for simulating how inertia would be displayed (might toggle the stiffness however as a bumper-cam wouldn't shake that much)...

  5. Very nice. It looks great but for a 'handheld' look, it's still not jiggly enough. Hint: you can even get rid of the armature ;)
select the camera, -select the softbody, enter editmode, select 3(!) vertices, ctrl-p (vertex parent) and the camera will follow motion AND rotation of these vertices.

  6. The armature, for me anyway, is more of an "ease of use" feature than a need. What I do is I hide the softbody and the camera in an unrendered layer, and I just leave the bone.

  7. cloverfield SUCKS. go ahead and use that cutting-edge 'shaky camera' effect... you are soooo cool.... really 'out of the box' thinking there.... oooh you are so cool!!!
I WILL NOT WATCH YOUR FILM.

  8. Well seems I remember a scripts from years back that added jitter to the camera IPO - anyone else remember that script (dont recall the name)? That IPO jitter could just be added to the triangle/bone IPO.

grrr why can't i remeber the name of that script.

I did a little digging while writing this:

    http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=103050

    http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Scripts/Catalog/AnimationPage2#camera_jitter

this was I came up with - with a little effort more will show up, but it's time for bed :)

  9. 0_o wow, alittle negative there...

this is a killer technique, and is really inspiring for new inovative thoughts all around.

    Great stuff,
    I WILL WATCH YOUR FILM.
