Another very promising project using Blender! An animation studio called Studio 125 is using Blender along with some other tools; to produce an animated TV Series called "Me & Jessie D.".
We just have been contacted by Michael Thoenes, which is the Animation Supervision of Studio 125.
Here are a few words about the project, by Mr. Thoenes:
"For the past 6 months I have been working as the production manager/animation supervisor for a new studio in Huntsville, Alabama, USA. Studio 125 is producing an animated television series called "Me & Jessie D." We have a staff of 10 in the animation department and Blender is an important part of what we are doing here at the studio. We use Blender primarily for modeling and UV unwrapping and have been able to successfully integrate blender in our pipeline along with Maya and Modo. Blender's obj import/export and the FBX export allow us to use Blender side by side with these applications. We also use Blender to create shape keys and then pass them back to Maya to apply as blend shapes to our characters. Blender's sculpt tools and proportional edit tools are greatly envied by some Maya users in the studio."
If you want to know more about the project, visit studio 125 web site. And don't forget to check out the animation gallery, to see some stills from "Me & Jessie D.".

yaaayyyy !!!! Suzanne doing great in televisoin series as well
long live blender so blender headz
Site's down already
Did we kill it XD
Instructional on Destroying website 'X' (X = target website):
Step 1: Post a news article on Blendernation stating that a new version of Blender has been released and can be on website 'X'.
Step 2: Laugh..... Hard.
Basically unless your target website happens to be Google.... your target website is going down!
All your blenders are belong to us?
Haha, that didn't bring down the BMR ;)
Anyway, I loved this post, and we really should make Blender more famously used for companies, so it won't be initially regarded as the stereotypical free 3D program.

If I ran a studio, I'd use it.
I don't though.
Note to self: Start Blender based animation company in Australia.
Seriously though, each post of this nature is very reassuring for BlenderHeads seeking eventual employment and for the professional future of Blender in general.
Cheers!
cool :D
I wonder, when the page is fixed - I want to see it :S
It works for me.
This so awesome! A Blender Animation studio in Alabama of all places, and Christian to boot! I'm weeping tears of joy. I'm bookmarking this site. Keep it up guys!
From Studio 125,
I have made a couple of tweaks to the site. We are very image heavy and load times may be slow for some. It is great to get a post on Blendernation. Blender is a big part of what we are doing here. virtually all of our characters and props are modeled in Blender. With the upgraded FBX export we will be looking at possibilities for doing more animation in Blender as well.
Cheers

this is always good to hear, especially with all of the nay sayers.
I have spoken with Michael Thoenes
Animation Supervisor and he say that
they are happy to work with blender!!!
Wow:
Blender users here in Alabama. I just moved down to Birmingham a few months ago. Are there any other Blender users down here?
Wow. Are those Rasta crows? And redneck gators? And a pig who's a cop? Geez, it looks like they're TRYING to get parent groups up in arms. Heh.
I'm quite interested if there was a production done using blender as the renderer as well (i.e. rendered with internal render engine) - not the 'open movies', I mean contract work.
Well it's not like "Fly like an eagle" is en vogue anymore, now it seem like being proposed as "Blow like a rasta crow".
Jah man RasTafari !
Tear down the Babylon !
... or something ...
Thats great news!!!
Yeah, it happens with you guys...did the same to my site once upon a time...
Still glad to see it as I start to slowly migrate away from Lightwave to Blender 3D for all my 3D work. There are still a lot of things that Blender is lacking (volumetrics), but it's getting there and I really don't see a lot of leaps and bounds going on with other packages either....
