I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Wow! I never ever imagined I'd see this here! Thanks very much for posting this Bart. I guess I'd better finnish the tutorial properly now, and work harder at getting my new Kung Fu Cuby movie completed (nearly there).

About the nickelodeon character, I've heard about him, but never actually seen him.
I'm still really surprised to see this :)

  2. nice. i wish this tutorial was around when i started using blender. the one i used was the gingerbread man one- it was too complex and i got lost. but this one is good. an easy model to create for beginners, and covers everything including facial animation

-sorry author of gingerbread man tutorial!!

  3. Congrats on making it to BlenderNation, Cuby (even though you're sitting right beside me...)!
It really is a great tutorial :)

  4. An excellent example of how complexity is not necessary for an expressive, animatable character. Does Cuby have a girlfriend made of spheres?
