If you've ever worked with curves and extrusion objects, you've probably run into the 'Z Twist' problem. Bassam Kurdali has found a simple way to fix this.

THANK YOU!
:) This is very useful information
I never would have thought of this. I'm not sure how it works, but I just tried it and it works great.
FINALLY!!!
Amazing trick!
Thank You Bassam !
The most impressive is that it seems to solve several twists with only one hook...
Hi.. the link doesnt work anymore .. how is the curve-twist-fix ?? please !!!!
i work a lot with the bezier curves, so thanks you for this very useful trick
That looks pretty useful - and so ingenious!
~epat. ;)
well, it worked. very cool and confusing. I'll have to think about it for a few minutes.... thanks
I hope Ben Batt finds inspiration to finish his project to fix this bug once and for all :) http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa206/artificer_blender/curvenormals01.png
Nice job, Bassam. Until the curve bug is fixed, this looks like a promising workaround. I hope it works as well for animation.
Matt, yes bug fixes are great and all, but then what happens to the nifty, esoteric tricks that you can only learn about by reading Blender Nation? =D
Hey, that's pretty nifty.
And yes, Matt, I am planning to eventually finish the curve normal fix :-) I'll hopefully get a chance to work on it this weekend.
Ben
this is a good trick but for curves that go in all directions there is no good position! Have at it Ben, we'll thank you for letting us leave this chapter out of the "Blender Work-a-rounds" manual.
Oh god! i came!
Hmmm, I'll have to try it out sometime... thanks!
