The first six members of the Peach Open Movie project have been chosen and the first workshop has been planned in only seven weeks from now.

We proudly present you the Peach team:
- Sacha Goedegebure (Netherlands)
- Lyubomir Kovachev (Bulgaria)
- Andy Goralczyk (Germany)
- Enrico Valenza (Italy)
- Nathan Vegdahl (USA)
- Brecht van Lommel (Belgium)
Sacha and Lyubomir are still the leads for concept and story, Brecht will be the TD (techical director), further the roles are being filled in still. All six people have been invited to come to Amsterdam, August 20-24, for a preproduction workshop in the Blender Institute.
As spares we've also found three people who are on the waiting list. They will join in case we have a drop out, or even better... when more budget comes in than minimally expected:
- Colin Levy (USA)
- William Reynish (Denmark)
- David Revoy (France)
We also want to implement better facilities and access for online collaboration with external artists. This is one of the main topics of the pre-production workshop.
And: there's of course the challenge of getting a fun, delightful, complete, great, inspiring & wonderful script. Not less!
More news will follow...

wow.. amazing..
these people will really make another amazing open movie project.. :D
Great team !
Can't wait to see what will come out from this new project.
Congrats for your participation guys and success to Peach.
Enrico
god thats great! Looking forward to the result!
William Reynish: where from denmark are you?
Peachy!
Good luck to the team! I am sure you will all make us proud ... err ... for mostly being slackers and not doing anything ourselves. :D
Looking forward to all the new ideas, both creative and technical, that will invariably come out of this.
I hope David will eventually make it into the team, provided more funding... his work is outstanding! :-)
But it's clear that the skill level of the current team (official and waiting list altogether) is quite remarkable... Only good things could arise, now! :-) With Sacha and Lyubomir as story writers, I expect the pitch of the shortfilm to be quite funny and entertaining :-)
Congrats to the team members! I'll eat a dozen peaches today in order to celebrate! :-P
Congratulations to all the team members! Those guys are definitely capable of amazing things. I'll be eager to see what they produce!
Thanks OlivS for your kind words about my work ;-)
Thanks too , to all the "selection team" very much, It's a big honor to has been selected as a spare artist within this "Blender Dream Team Artist" . I'm sure Peach will sound as a wonderfull story for Blender.
Great! I am curious about story, theme, style ... of the new animation project.
Good luck!
hey best of luck to all of you team members
you people are very lucky.... in fact :)
Let's start a donation fund to get those other three in there guys!
Wish all the best for this very talented group!
I'm sure the movie will be awesome! =D
Cheers
good thinking. Wish I could help out but mega busy at work here.
(render manager in uk).
Sweet! Good choice.
Congrats to the team.
Great team !
I'm sure that the fruit of the year will have a good taste.
Congratulations !
wOot! Bring on the gameage! I'll be cheering you guys on...
Congratulations and the best luck for the team!!!
Lasphere: I'm from Copenhagen. You?
Impressive lineup! And with Brecht on the team, that will translate to tons of nifty features for Blender.
William Reynish: I love that "Chicken or egg?" animation. :-D
Gentlemen,I salute you all and a triumph journey !
Nice lineup!
Heavyweighters make a heavyweight movie, I hope. Colin should be there too. Young, but very talented as a moviemaker.
Please make this years story a bit less "far out". I know it will be difficult there in Amsterdam, but if you could stay away from _those_ coffee shops at least until you get the script finalized...
To the last comment: agreed. We Blenderheads are a visual bunch, but we should really focus on getting a screenplay down first before working on the visuals. It's hard, writing isn't as fun even if the idea is fun, but that's the time-honored method. Story first, everything else later.
Go men! Make something great!
Great stuff! I am really looking forward - not only to the movie - but the new and improved features that will end up in Blender, and hopefully we can all learn a lot about the intricacies involved and how to overcome the challenges in making such a movie!
On-line collaboration will be great!
Wow! Is Jan Morgenstern doing the score again? That would be cool.
Well with what he's done for Blender in the past, I'm sure it's likely.
Peaches! Start your citric juices!
Lovely news! I too am rooting for Colin Levy. He's made some of my favourite shorts. :)
For the script I would definitely say that using a wiki would be a BAD idea. Zefrank tired that for "Fabuloso Friday" and thousands of revisions were made and tons of great ideas were just completely thrown out for dumb ones.
Does anyone else have a tablet that's willing to do a paint-chat? Maybe we could just come up with one or two gags, and talk cartoon philosophies, but a storyboard brainstorm would be fun.
Here's a thread: http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?p=906160
A very star-studded line-up indeed! Looking forward to see what juices come out of the Blender this time. :)
Great news!
I like the idea about raising funds to help get the extras more involved. It would definitely help to make for an even better project with less stress.
Great lineup - this is exciting news.
Please guys, reamain free over anything else, don't feel like you have to do something funny, eye candy, or think about audience expectations: Just express what you need to... GO! GO! GO!
For some reason the thing that gets me the most excited (really the only thing that's got me excited so far) is that Brecht will be TD:-)
Go Peach Go! No doubt that those excellent artists will do their best! Congrats, and we'll be following your work closely! ;)
Hopefully this one will come on HD DVD too! Or maybe on iTunes, i'd sure like to give my share to fund the Blender foundation. I hope though it won't be like Elephant's Dream cause that one was not good, it was just too depressive...
Congrats to those chosen, and here is to hoping plenty of money is raised to get the rest on board as well. I will be keeping an eye out for when extra help for things like audio might be wanted;)
