ARTNATOMY / ARTNATOMIA is an excellent facial movement reference site, complete with muscles and skeleton. You can select various muscles to see how they lay out on the face and you can also choose various expressions. Use level II where you can click on different areas of the face to see the underlying muscles. Thanks for the link. This is a great site. I am interested in doing more realistic modeling and anatomy is crucial to the process of getting a model to deform correctly in animation. I was priviledged to get to see the "Bodies, The Exhibition." ( http://www.bodiestheexhibition.com/ ) when it was in Tampa at MOSI. It is worth seeing for any artist and is traveling to several cities in the Europe and North America so far. I hope the rest of the world gets to see it.
great site, but hasn't this been mentioned here before?
Freakydude,
I searched but could not find it here. Even if it was mentioned before, it's still a good site to bring up.
ByronK:
That is sick man! They used real dead bodies to travel around and show anatomy? Wow!
I saw this site a little over a year ago. Don't know if it was mentioned here, or in the forums somewhere.
Anyhow, I used wget to recursively download all the flash files so that I can run it off my USB key. Very handy.
@ Reuben: How does that wget work anyway? What commands did you use to get the files in this case? I'm thinking doing this with wget for windows.
This is funny. This application is contradicting with the spot-the-fake-smile-quiz
Here the zigomaticus is used for joy, while in http://www.blendernation.com/2007/06/08/spot-the-fake-smile-quiz/ is stated it is only used for fake laughter...
But nice for better understanding of facial expressions.
@S-T-S: The online man page for it can be found here: http://www.gnu.org/software/wget/manual/wget.html
@ByronK, That show is currently in raleigh/durham north carolina where I live and someone just told me I shoudl check it out. Now I guess I really must before it moves on...
@Reuben: Yes, but I should have said that I can download the main flash application (from http://www.artnatomia.net/uk/) with wget, but it doesn't find the subdirectories even if I try to use recursive download. That main flash application is useless by itself without those external pictures in subdirectories. So if you just could tell me what wget command flags you used to get those subdirs also. If some reason you don't want to tell it here, PM me in blenderartists.org forum with this same nick. S-T-S
That show , wasnt that with the controversy about unvoluntary bodydonations by chinese convicts? Saw that on german telly. Or is that another german creative with corps show?
Hi all. I'm the author of Artnatomy tool. I thank you very much for your interest in my application.
To Reuben and STS: I think I have been enough generous with the community developping and putting online the application for free. The offline version is for sale at a price I believe reasonable and allow me to pay the enormous server traffic and continue working those kind of projects. I think you could consider the possibility of purchasing the improved version instead of trying to downlad all the files and collapsing, this way, my server and the free access for other people.
Thanks again and regards,
Victoria
Victoria Contreras, I'm sorry if we offended you in any way. I just thought to download it once (for personal, nonprofit use only) instead using it many times on-line, thus saving my & your bandwidth. That and the fact that you have it under the creative commons license (Quoting "You are free to share — to copy, distribute and transmit the work").
I think this is one of or the best website ever its relly help me at lot and i would just like to say thanks you
vicky,
You are welcome. Thank you for the feedback.
