I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Hehehe glad to see that the event got a different turn then it should be afther posting something on BlenderArtists. Too bad I can't be there because of a 4 day event at school where we must participate in, but I'm sure it would be great there. Make a great midday of it and let us know how it all went. ;)

Btw I think Donner would be quite intrested to host once a year such an event if there are people willing to come. I think this is a sort of beginning too see how it turns out and when it had some succes it could be a repeatable event I think.

  2. I'll try to take my fathers cam.
I hope there are many participants. It would be cool to have another repeatable event in the Netherlands.

  3. its an hour with the train from amsterdam... Or is it because its the home of Feyenoord ;-)

When I record something it will be available on torrent.

  4. I went in there yesterday just browsing around. When my eye fell on the book from Tony Mullen, "Introducing Character Animation with Blender" and next to it the flyer for the upcoming Blender event.
When talking to the person organising the event, i understood that they might have to cancel it. At the moment (17-05-07) they only have 12 participants. That is to little as they have a room with a capacity of 125.

So all you dutch blenderheads, get your family, neigbours and friends to particpate now.

    see you there.

  5. Well as far as we know the event has not been cancelled, I'll call tomorrow (today is a holiday). If there is news I'll let you know here, but of course we all still hope lots of people sign up and we can do something.

  6. @macouno: I did not say they are cancelling the event. But that i was told that if there were no more than 12 people coming, they might cancel. my intention was only to get more people to sign up. that's all.

apologies for the confusion i have caused.

  7. Tuesday we'll know for sure... I know it's not perfect, but apparently 2 schools said they wanted to come with a group and since they had a vacation this entire week they couldn't confirm yet. So... tuesday is the best I can do at the moment.

  8. There's news... the event will happen! But there is still room for interested people, so be sure to take the day off and sign up!!!

  9. When transferring the film to my computer there were a few glitches i had to fix. Then i needed to upload it but that took time too. Anyway here it is:
