Blendiberia 2007

11

cartel.pngBlendiberia 2007 will be celebrated in Castellón de la Plana from the 13th to the 15th of April. Blendiberia is a Latin fan Blender meeting. This year it will take place during iParty9. There will be a lecture about animation movies by one of the creators of Plumíferos.

For the last five years, a group of Spanish users has met every year in a different location in Spain. During each meeting, some people give lectures and tutorials in order to approach the newest features of Blender to others.

Many of the lectures turns on several other themes linked with the CG world (such as psychobiology of the perception, state of the enterprises and employ in Spain, dedicated hardware, and so on). For instance, this year we have a "making of" of the sixteen years old Pepius WIP called "Naruto", a practical example of using the sculpt tool by high-experienced Caronte, or a lecture about the internal behavior of the physics of photons.

The most wanted lecture of this year comes by the hand of Claudio Andaur "malefico", one of the creators of the long animation movie "Plumíferos", that will come from Argentina to Castellón de la Plana, courtesy of the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón.

In addition, we could talk with Daniel Martínez "Pepeland", a very famous Spanish animator, who is currently being attracted by the Dark Side of the Blender's Force ;)

The meeting will be celebrated in the University Jaume I of Castellón de la Plana, Spain, from the 13th to the 15th of April, inside the annual Free Software meeting called iParty, that celebrates its ninth edition.

Cheers!

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

I've never thought of Blender as being the Dark Force of 3D :p

Things like Imperial March, oppression, big battle station, and huge army of clone would be more easily applied to softwares like Maya and Max.

Blender with his courageous little freelancers and scattered base of operation would more closely fit the Rebellion...

    Or the Ewoks...

    * run away very fast *

  2. Sorry for the double post (I never do this, really, I swear) but the Naruto stuff ... wow...

By a 16 year old you say? Damn... I feel old and obsolete... I feel so... 3DFX? :'(

  3. LOL!

I agree with you, the Naruto stuff is impressive by itself, but it gets even bigger knowing it comes from a 16 year old! I definitely feel old now...

I checked the iParty9 site but the links don't seem to work, I don't know if it's just me or if they are having problems with the page. Do you have any problems?

    Thx!

    Jos

P.S. Blender is DEFINITELY the light side of the force!

  4. Wow that's an awesome line up and sounds like a great event. Indeed, 'Do not underestimate the powaa of the darkside' !

    :-)

  5. Yes, a Blender maniac strength flows from the Force. But beware of the Orange side. Funny, pleasure, happiness; the Orange side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight. If once you start down the Orange path, forever will it dominate your keyboard, consume your computer it will, as it did Obi-Ton's apprentice.

    :DDDD

  6. We have being experienced several problems with our server, so the webpage will not work properly for a couple days or so. Sorry by the inconveniences.

By the way, the Orange Side is such a Dark Orange, so it's a Dark Side anyway.

  7. Damn, seems like there are problems with the server, I hope they'll solve them soon.

Thanks for the comments =) Unfortunately, seems like I won't be able to finish the image before Blendiberia starts, so it won't be a full making-of.

    Greetings.

    P.D: Klopes, I've seen you getting old :P :D

  8. Tzzzz tzzzz Malefico ...
How do you "get so far/high" being so "unprepared" :)

I just want to give you un abrazo? and tell how amazed I am with the fantastic Plumiferos adventure.
    Bye and good luck
