A congratulation to Neils Philipsen aka MadMesh for completeing his student film graduation project "The Asylum." This is a black & white film in the style of the old classic Frankenstien's Monster films and a bit Tim Burton with music was composed by Sidhartha Barnhoorn.
All of the 3D work was done in Blender 2.41 the compositing work was done in After Effects.
You can view more screen shots and the download the movie at his website.
The Story: Afgelegen is an institution that is under the guidance of an eccentric psychiatrist who has a craze for electroshock therapy. After intensive experimenting, the professor discovers his patient is gone; He then turns to his assistant . . .
duration: approximately 5 minutes
Very spooky and a tribute to Dr. Frankenstein. Very well done and a good example what you can make with Blender
And what do I forget? The music, it fits to the movie, like a shoe.
Very good movie!
And the animatic (animated storyboard) is very interesting and well done. It is a good example.
This is excellent. Well done. I'm working on a black and white short film myself and it's great to see that others are trying out the B&W concept in 3d too!
He I'm on BlenderNation :) My first apearance.
By the way my first name is mis spelled, it's Niels not Neils
sniff... And I tought him that. ;)
Congrats Niels! See you saturday!
wish I could make an animation as good as that!
Oops! Sorry, I got my metters lixed up. ;-)
I can't seem to view the film from Niels' website! Can someone possibly mirror it?
Very good film. The dramatic story and the music match good with the b&w concept.
That movie is great. It seems better with music instead of sound.
I liked it. I wish I had the time or skills to make something like that.
Your work looks brilliant & im probably gonna get moaned at here for bein in the wrong place but please please can someone answer this for me-is there any way I can add material/colour only to Selected Areas instead of the whole object?
