Conference: Architecture Free/Open Source Software (Italy)

6

palazzo_carignano.jpgThe Architecture University of Turin (in Italy) is hosting a conference on Tuesday, June 13th, 2006 entitled: "Architecture Free/Open Source Software - How to communicate a project using free or open source software."

The conference will cover several aspects of architectural project workflows and will focus primarily on use of graphic software such as Blender, Gimp, Inkscape, various rendering engines, and non-graphic software like Open Office.

The conference is open (no pun intended) and everyone is welcome to attend! The official announcement for the conference can be found here. The English version of the schedule can also be found here.

This is an opportunity you shouldn't miss if you can get to the conference since Blender and other free and open source software are versatile tools for architectural design.

If you attend the conference and want to tell the world about how it went, drop us a line! We would love to hear about it!

  1. I so wish i can make it and come. I live in Athens and right now I'm trying to book a flight.. I also hope that there will be a summary published in BlenderArt magazine

  2. @Eon
Riccardo Covino (www.riccardocovino.it) mentioned to us that there will also be a link to the live web streaming, but I didn't add that to the post since I didn't have a definitive link. Maybe someone that's involved in the conference can elaborate more?

  3. Blender is a very excellent benefit to the Architecture & design industry. Love it, Live it, been using it for almost a year once awhile.

Hope to exploit it more deeper.

    BEST WISHES to Blender.

  4. Though I already have known this tutorial for a long time, I still find it very impressive. But there is a lot more stuff on Yorik's website which is really worth to be watched. Yorik's site is the best site about architectural visualization I know.
