Illusoft has released an update to their vital Collada 1.4 plugin for Blender (now version 0.2.22) with some major enhancements (do I hear materials?).
Here are the latest updates from the site:
Import Features:
- UV import
- Material import
- Per-face materials
Export Features:
- UV export
- Material export
- Vertex Normals
- Per-face materials
Other Features/Fixes:
- Most recent filename is remembered.
- Some Collada semantics were incorrect.
- Face normals fixed when importing files with Y as up-axis.
- OSX and Unix support.

The reason I ask about the 0.2.22 version is that it is pretty recent compared to the original 0.2 version of the script released on May 18th.
yes (although he left the version number at 2.16 in the file, only the folder name has the correct version numbers)

Sounds like with this update you can now export/import a model... lol.
I tried exporting a Collada .dae mesh from Irredit and Blender said it loaded it but there was nothing but an empty mesh. The .3ds file Blender exported from it was invalid. Please describe who is at fault here. Me, Blender, IrrEdit, or the Collada plugin?
