Blender Summer Of Code

From the Google SoC site:

Summer of Code 2006 is a program that offers student developers stipends to create new open source programs or to help currently established projects. Google will be working with a variety of open source, free software, and technology-related groups to identify and fund several hundred projects over a three-month period.

Blender is one of 101 participating mentoring organizations (up from 40 in 2005). The first instance of the SoC program in 2005 brought Blender several projects that we now use everyday. So if you have a great idea, or even if you don’t yet, visit the Blender SoC Ideas site and imagine the possibilities!
