Content Manager Script for Blender

18

library.jpgMariano has posted a script for the storage, retrieval, and managing of all your materials, objects, textures, ipos, cameras, paths, worlds, and lamps and automaticly generates the preview image.

From the thread:

With this script you can easily store and retrieve all your materials, objects, textures, etc. You can also quickly share your stuff with other Blender users by using the built in import/export functionality.

Since this is a beta script, there are a few issues still to be resolved (a full python installation is required to use the import export functionality, the .blend file needs to be reopened after adding something, favorites aren't working, etc.), but it is still a powerful tool. Blender Library is certainly a great addition to anyone's Blender arsenal.

  3. Mariano, thanks a lot!

This script is a must have to develop!

I hope it will be useful also as a Bin when Blender will be an NLE/compositor :-)

    This is awesome.

the only thing is that every time i add a material, the python script error comes up.

  5. A script such as this one could be used to access a central online repository of all kinds of Blender resources such as Python scripts, objects and materials. Imagine downloading Blender for the first time and having thousands of such objects at your fingertips!

  6. Bart, that's a super cool idea! It would have to download the content you decided to use of course so you still have access to it offline.

  7. @Alexander: i say a friendly NLE Video/compositor. The actually sequencer has a lot of potentials, but absolutely it's not friendly for video editing.

  8. What the phlegm??? Original link= "File not found", and the stinking bytehost link is nothing but a never-ending pit full of spam. >:(

    This rips.
