Kaleidoscope Modeling Technique

7

images_05.jpgEndre Barath (Endi), has created a website dedicated to an amazing kaleidoscope modeling technique which is not only easy but quick. And by quick, I mean getting results in seconds.

Endre has listed several programs for which this method will work and has posted several tutorials for each, with of course Blender being right there in front. He's also posted on elysiun requesting images for the kaleidoscope website gallery. This is a great technique and a lot of fun to play with. I look forward to seeing the amazing shapes submitted to his kaleidoscope site, which should be just as amazing as his creations!.

  1. Oh please! The KalTech home is under construction! Maybe not for public... there is pages that are in hugarian language! Err... khm... :)

  2. Very cool trick. Not necessarily a new one though. I remember using the 'scale along normals' tool in trueSpace to create "Space Flowers" almost 10 years ago.

lol. This is interesting. I have been using an almost exact proccess to create meshes to create and test my GLSL shaders. I find the surface properties of complex shapes like this can show the state of a shader in different situations on a single mesh.
