New Site Name: BlenderNation.com

nation2Things are going well with my new site. Hundreds of people visit each day and the number of visitors is continually rising. It must mean I'm on to something :). To celebrate this I've moved it to a new domain: www.blendernation.com.

I have thought long about a good name and I settled on this one because it expresses the values of the Blender community that are important to me: we're one large group with one common interest. As in any nation there are all kinds of people here and while most of the time we get along fine, sometimes we don't. The important thing though is that we know where to find each other and that we know what's going on in the group.
I'm hoping that this new site will become a great asset to the Blender community and I'll do what I can to keep it up to date.

As of now I am also opening the door for other people who would like to actively contribute news. If you'd like to help out, please check out the 'submit news' page. (You'll find it in the navigation bar at the top).

  1. Cool move! I wish all the best to Blender Nation. The name makes me feel quoting "One for all, all for one". The old site on vrotvrot.com was already a good and informative read. I think this new name only will give a boost to the value of this news site to the entire Blender Community.

    Way to go!

  2. Hey Bart! I've been checking out your site almost daily now since it's release, it's entertaining and informative, keep up the good work. More people adding news could make this a nice daily news site to come back to again and again!

  3. Yaay, finally a place where I can get my dayly dose of crack-ing blender news. Nice and clear layout, nice people, nice name.

I just hope this Nation won't behave like one, to quote Terry Pratchett: "How does one go from those nice and reasonable individuals to that bunch of lunatic raving madmen called a nation?".

And two years later you're still inspiring the same awe.

It's a dangerous site. I come here for a quick feed check and leave hours later having investigated and downloaded loads of useful tutorials and advice.

    Thank you.
