Community Journal #3

1

Afbeelding 21.pngA new Community Journal is out, packed with cool Blender art, an interview with Jan Kurka, an article about 'Transcendent' (a first-person shooter Blender game), and a few good tutorials.

Once again, we are awed by the great images and animations being cranked out by all the Blender users around the world. Keep up the great work. Don't forget to send your images and animations to ba.communityjournal (at) gmail.com. We are always looking for content.

We meet a Blenderhead that many of you may not know of, but who is a fantastic modeller and texturer.

TomorrowMan gives us Part 1 of his teams progress and development of "Trancendent". The most advanced game being developed with Blender Game Engine to date.

Falgor provides us with the first tutorial of this CJ, as he walks us through a method for making realistic lightning in Blender.

In the second tutorial, I expand on the head modelling tutorial from last months CJ, by mr_bomb, and take you through how to do an LSCM UV unwrap of the completed head mesh.

You'll find the Journal on BlenderArtists.org.

[I secretly hope that they'll mention my site, next time ;-)]

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Great that the journal is available again. It was always a good read. Nice to see you're still active in the Blender community, Bart : )
