OS X 10.4.4 update

0

macosxupdateA few days ago I reported that using Blender 2.40 was problematic on Macs with NVidia hardware. The Blender developers had reported this issue and Apple has supplied a bugfix in the graphics drivers in the 10.4.4 update that became available today. I tested Blender and it now works like a charm.

The update contains the following fixes:

  1. Bluetooth wireless access
  2. Core Graphics, Core Audio, Core Image, RAW camera support
  3. Updated ATI and NVIDIA graphics drivers
  4. Spotlight indexing and searching
  5. AppleScript, iChat, DVD Player, and Safari applications
  6. Dashboard widgets: Calendar and Stocks
  7. Software Update and Sync Services

A full list of fixes is available from the Apple Knowledgebase.

Update: I goofed up today and accidentally threw away the original post. Igor: this means that I wiped out your comment as well. Sorry about that ;-)

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.
