X-Ray Effect In Blender

thumb_02.jpgthe_nr posted about a neat effect he came up with to simulate an x-ray scan.  It involves a blend texture mapped to an animated empty and great use of the compositing nodes.  You can see the main post the describes how it was done here, and the video of the effect (XviD) here (remember to right click and save as).  Nice one the_nr!

    If you are looking for tutorials you might want to check out http://blenderartists.org, either the tutorial section of the forum (http://blenderartists.org/forum/) or the tutorial collection page (http://blenderartists.org/cms/index.php?id=31). BlenderArtists is also a great place to ask questions too. You might also want to check out Bart's tutorials on the "tutorials" link at the top of the page and the tutorial section of our posts (right sidebar) for other tutorials from other sites.

    Ahh, ray day strikes again. This time with an x-ray. You all I'm sure are familiar with the sting ray incident this morning, and it's my birthday.

    @Tarak
    It still works for me with the latest XviD codec and windows media player. I'm not sure why it doesn't work for you, but maybe you could try VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/).
