A very nice tutorial showing how to compose a scene for a Windmill, have been published by a user called blenditall on the Blenderartists forums. The render and modeling looks great! The tutorial explains how the elements for this image were composed from render layers and the nodes setup.

wow, the rim light on the windmill is amazing. I need to remember to use backlighs more often.
