On July 26, the Western Pennsylvania Linux Users Group will be showing both Elephants Dream and Big Buck Bunny at the Creative Treehouse in Pittsburgh, which will be followed by a 45-minute presentation/demo/talk and Q & A about Blender by Roland Hess (harkyman).

Details of the event can be found on the WPLUG wiki:

Any Blenderheads in the Pittsburgh area are encouraged to just show up. It would be nice opportunity to meet some new people.

Check http://harkyman.com before you leave, though, as the Creative Treehouse doesn't have air conditioning, and there is a slight possibly that the WPLUG people may move or reschedule the event if in fact it is hotter than the surface of the sun that day.

Ah, crap. This weekend is packed. Otherwise, I'd most definitely stop in and say hi.

Blargh! If only I was in that area! Or had a means of transportation…

I live there! It's on the world wide web and… in my backyard. Hunh, … magical.

Would it be possible to get announcements of these events sooner. I'd love to have swung by to this event while visiting Ohio, but I'd bought my plane ticket a couple weeks ago. Also true of the Tennessee events.
Oh well, maybe there'll be something in the bay area of SF soon.
