tokyo-2009From Tony Mullen:

Hi Everybody,

I wanted to let people know that the next Japanese Blender Party is coming up in Tokyo this month! If you're planning to be in Japan on the 25th of April, be sure not to miss it!

As always, there will be a showing of Blender-made videos (including some new stuff), mini-tutorials, food, drink, and general good vibes with the Japanese Blender user community.

Here's the website for the event. If you click the English language link you'll get an automatically translated page:

If you can make it, please follow the instructions to register so we know how many people will be there. If you have trouble registering or can't read the Japanese, get in touch with Manda.

In other, mostly unrelated news, I'm going to be leading another introductory Blender workshop in Tokyo on the weekend of May 9th and 10th. Once again, it's going to be held at an art and graphics studio, this time Gift Lab in Ebisu (http://www.giftlab.jp/). The announcement for that is here (all in Japanese, of course):

The last workshop was a huge success, so we're hoping we get that level of interest again this time.

All in all, there's a lot of Blender action happening in Tokyo this spring.

Hope some BlenderNation readers have the chance to get in on some of it!

Tony

Always cool to hear about events like this :)
I like the style of those flyers, but the cycloptic Blender logo children are a bit scary!

The 'automatically translated' page raises a smile, too! But perhaps KONPOJITTONODO, should be something like うどん ?

Wow, on my birthday even. Too bad I'll be in New Mexico, and no Japan at that time.

It is good to hear about all the cool blender events that are going on.

    Hey,

Thanks, Blendernation, for running this item! I do want to mention that I wasn't one of the main organizers of the event myself, and this isn't really about me personally or my books, so perhaps a different graphic might be appropriate? There are some great graphics created especially for this event that would be better. Here's one:

The English version of this event apparently features the 'main knitting party'.
    Time to crochet some splines!

It broadcasts on the Internet on that day.
