By the time it is in it's final stage of development the renderer will be optimized and multi threaded and the UI will be cleaner. I think it is rather easy to use if you understand nodes abit but honestly you do not even have to use the nodes, just use the menu tree on the left. I do that most of the time anyways. I wanted to say that "I liked it, and it would be nice etc." but anyway, I use bryce 5 for the ground and some more etc. and it is effective as much as terragen, and it has a new version abd because of this, it gives 5.0 free and if you did not try, do it once.
