A speed modeling video that Andrew Price recorded whilst waiting for a flight at Brisbane airport.

Andrew writes:

I’ve just published a tutorial that teaches you how to easily create a cloudscape that is perfect for any outdoor scene.

During the tutorial you will learn:

  • How to model a cloud
  • The correct materials to apply
  • An easy two point lighting setup
  • How to use multiple displacement modifiers for fluffier clouds

I’ve made the tutorial text and picture based because I know some people like to skip past the parts they already know :P

what I wonder is how he gets the volumetrics to look so fine/solid/smooth. whenever i use volumetrics, it looks all grainy and nasty. but nice work :)
