Scheduled downtime: Tonight 20:30-21:30 GMT+2

computer-trashOur second attempt! We'll be moving BlenderNation to a more delicious server tonight. The plan is to bring the site down at 20:30 GMT+2 (Amsterdam time) and to spend about one hour to migrate and test everything. We're stepping away from the potato-powered server, that didn't work so well for us. We're open for suggestions for alternatives! (Post your pics in the comments and I'll pick one to use during our downtime).

    Bart, tell us: have you ever thought how are potatoes powered? Then I will tell you that if all severs on this planet would be so energy effective as potatoes are all energetic problems of humanity will be solved. So please stop laughing at plants and think what really gives power to servers! Atomic energy in most cases. Sad and true.

    You should try with mushrooms… take a look on how the energy made supermario grow a lot!!! They must work for bringing energy to a server!!!

    Don't you mean lemmings, 1,000 lemmings each on their own little treadmill, energy crisis over… :)

    …you will of course need a very BIG shovel, 1,000 lemmings = 1,000+ lemming droppings…:)

    Apples work like a charm for powering servers. And if you're hungry having a snack is much more convenient than potatoes.
