Welcome to "Real or Fake" Blender 3D Challenge. This is the first challenge from blendervideos.com and the members of this challenge would like to have a quality output of the final submission and in the entire process of making it.

As a 3D artist and a Blender lover you need to make a 3D scene which mimics the real world environment (model, texture, light and render). Your final output should have a quality and which should almost similar to the real world. We dont have any restriction on the reference that you opt. It can be a product visualisation, an organic model like bird, horse or any animals and creatures( sorry, imaginary animals and creatures are not allowed), or a human being interacting in a real world. Try to create a close-up shot rather than a wide angle. So that we can see the details.

For information on the contest rules and prizes, see BlenderVideos.com.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. This is great... this type of contests usually raise the quality bar... looking forward to seeing the entries and see who pushes blender to its fullest potential!

  2. yeah so someone who needs no tutorials as his prize wins some?and second and third get the same? i think that the prizes should be something like a free blender 3d product or something along with some tutorials cus he dont need them or if he does its too late(if u do keep the prizes seconed place should get two prizes not one like third place) HAPPY BLENDING

  3. @Tim: LOL!

The prize should be to be paid by cmiVFX to make a tutorial for them about the video.
    Would be a win-win situation.
