Peach Interviews: Enrico Valenza

enrico.jpgLast week I visited the Blender Institute in Amsterdam, where I had a chance to talk to the members of the Peach team (and a member of Apricot as well!). I taped my conversations with them and for the next week, we'll publish one interview each day. Today part five: Enrico Valenza, Lead Artist.

    Thanks for the answer which programs are used for making the environment and backgrounds.
    Blender and the Gimp.
    But the way how this is be done is not answered, probably because its to much to tell in a short interview.
    I will search for some tutorials.
    Thanks for the interview.

    greetings
    Anton

    @Anton :
    Try painting a new image in the UV/Image Editor with a tablet (ESRP: $99 USD for the little one) with the paint tool (the little pencil icon)
    and then applying it to a UV mapped/unwrapped plane :D
    it works well for matte paintings :)

    Oh yeah, how do we get our questions in the next interview?
    I definitely want to ask if they are going to hire any actors for the project (eg: have the actors volunteer or something) or just do it barebones.

    I also wanted to ask how they got their renderfarm working (eg: with what renderer (blender internal?) and what software queuer ( Dr Queue? ) they used.

    hmmm… I think the eyes for the squirrel looks too evil… is it going to be an evil squirrel?
    If it's not, the eyes don't need to be dialated so much. -I like the Big Buck Bunny's eyes – they seem "correct"
    okay, that's my 2 cents on the project :)
