THANK YOU!!

Small note: Your link above to "Particle Types" incorrectly points to .../Doc:Manual/Physics/Particles/Particle_physics.

It should be edited to point to .../Doc:Manual/Physics/Particles/Types instead.

Good ol' copy and paste... :)

@BrianH
Be sure to announce it on blenderartists too if anything comes of it (not everyone reads blendernation) I'm sure it will be appreciated by many people :)

@GMT,

It's something I've been tossing around for a while now, along with the BGE Networking I've been working on. I've been very busy with my job (the one that pays the bills), but lately its been getting more calm and I could possibly find time to get something done with the DVD. I have other fur materials I could include, possibly another Volume worth if I work on it some more. I'll let BN know if I do proceed with anything.

A Fur DVD? Oh yes please! I would love to buy such a thing, just name your price! It is very difficult to find really good references for Blender.

There's so much about the particle system that I've wondered about and now I'll finally get the answers. :)

Thank you all a lot for the positive comments.

@BrianH: I found that I have uploaded an older image (i.e. I have uploaded it a year ago and forget to change it...), but of course this is from you fur library. I have remade it now with 2.49, so a few settings had to be adjusted, and I have not yet managed to get exactly the same look as you did. If you come up with an even better material, I would be glad to include it in the manual. I hope the attribution to you is OK? http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Image:Blender3D_NeonFur.jpg

@nonaestet: The license is probably Open Content License, see http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Meta:Licenses. I release everything I write also with an GFDL license, which you may use instead (but only for the parts I've written alone). So yes, of course you can compile it into a PDF file and publish that. Though I would probably wait a bit so that errors may be corrected (and there are for sure some I've not yet found).

With kind regards
