Ott Planetarium Announces The Nature of Science

ottThe Ott Planetarium have released a new movie for their dome projector, called ‘The Nature of Science’. You can see the entire show on their website, but like they say: ‘but it’s much better in the planetarium!’. Indeed. Any shows planned here in the Netherlands? :)

The Ott Planetarium is pleased to announce the release of The Nature of Science. This 21 minute planetarium show is designed to communicate what science is and how scientists work. A companion website (thenatureofscience.org) is in development.

The show is available in the following formats: 1k MPEG-2, 1k M2V+OGG, with support for 2k Domemasters, 4k Domemasters and NTSC DVD coming soon.

The Nature of Science was produced with Blender; a free, open source production suite (see blender.org). The Ott Planetarium has been producing fulldome video since 2005 and has been using a Blender-based production pipeline since 2006. Blender-produced titles include: Cosmic Journey, Astro Otters, Astro Otters Jr., and several short pieces.
