blender-non-realistic-clouds-tutorialA new videotutorial by Kernon Dillon for CGCookie.com. It uses the same technique as we covered earlier in 'Non-photorealistic rendering: Painting with Polygons'.

Kernon writes:

In this tutorial, we’ll take a look at how to create non-photorealistic Cumulus clouds in Blender. These techniques are taken from a Siggraph 2009 paper titled “Painting with Objects”, created by Isaac Botkin.

    Very unique effect!
Reminds me of the pixar short 'Partly Cloudy'. I didn't know you could use an empty to animate the displacement of an object either. Very cool trick. Will definately be using that in a future video of mine ;)

Thanks for the write-up, and the comments. I love how simple the technique is, but it can boggle your mind when you start to think about all of the different ways that you can significantly effect the rendered results.
