New Mancandy Available for Testing
This amazing rig demonstrated by Bassam at the Blender Conference is available for testing. Bassam plans to release a new version of Mancandy with each release of Blender. Thus ensuring that the latest goodies are included in the rig.
Bassam says of the rig:
With the imminent release of blender I’ve decided to publish the latest version of everyone’s favourite blender test
dummycharacter. This Mancandy includes stretchy, bendable limbs inspired by Disney’s Meet The Robinsons characters, and an extra set of lattice-y controls for the face, inspired by the facial rigs in the Plumiferos movie.This release is more or less an alpha- please test, pose and animate, and report any flipping limbs, bad deformations, and other problems here.
The rig can be downloaded from Freefactory.
Please note that a 2.43 RC or an equivalent build must be used to work with Mancandy. Bassam says that the rig will likely break horribly in older versions.

Why “mancandy”?
Very very good! I remember originally looking at this rig and thought “what does it do?”. Then I saw the presentation online, and went to pose mode (that was one version ago). This is great stuff. It will take a lot to dissect all of the material (a lot of modifiers and a lot of great stuff here), but you can model this any way you like. Fantastic!
