Mancandy officially released.

13

3candies_sm.pngMancandy is officially released. And it now comes in three tasty flavors.

Bassam explains on his website:

Mancandy 1.0 , Mancandy 2.0 and Mancandy 2.1

I suppose I should explain. 1.0 is the old dude I originally posted on the elephants dream website. Should work fine on blender 2.45, but check and report. Mancandy 2.0 is my current “blessed” version, works on blender 2.45. 2.1 is an interim release, made to remain compatible with blender SVN (for those who like the bleeding edge)

Have fun kiddies.

A big thank you for sharing your knowledge and time with all of us. I know I've learned a lot by taking apart Bassam's creations. Make sure to visit his site or the Blenderartist thread about the release to thank him.

  1. thanks folks. I updated the mancandy2.0 file; now the armature is visible (and selectable) by default. If you intend on lib linking the goup, I recommend you hide it.
jedihe: I need a full week of work to finish the DVD- unfotunately I got hit by some other deadlines, and by the blender conference. I think the presale will start soon, though, and I'll try to get it finished pronto.
Eric, I'll be there! I have a presentation on Sunday. I'll show of a few teaser things from the DVD, and do a totally un mancandy related demo :)

  2. His site is quite awsome.. he documented his interviews, submitted patches and now contributes his work to the community,

way to go Bassam, keep up the great work

  3. Bassam, I can't wait for your ManCandy to be delivered (OK, that sounds wrong!) Seriously though, I pre-ordered the tutorial DVDs and am really psyched about finally having some high quality vid tutorials in my self-study curriculum. I have Tony Mullen's character animation book, which I reference occasionally, but I really learn best by seeing the process in action. I'm still pretty lost when it comes to rigging, so hopefully this will be the key.

    Cheers,
    QA

Thank you very much Bassam and thank you all Blender team. I never though I could learn so much of a 3D software. With blender and with a help of artists like you it is beeing ever easy. Thanks!
