    I ordered it in early December and got Introducing Character Animation and The Essential Blender for Christmas to keep me busy while I waited. I can't wait 'til it arrives!

    Mine says shipped! Not sure if that means it definitely is shipped or not, but its a good sign. I'm waiting to buy creature workshop now.

    No, you always can use it with older versions ;)
    Nobody is forced to use the latest version available.

    @humble… Won't work with older version (before 2.44) but should work with new version post 2.44 including 2.50.

    From e-shop versioning details: "The tutorials (and ManCandy) are designed to work with Blender 2.44 / 2.45 (the current stable version of blender)…. and the concepts and techniques taught here should remain valid for the foreseeable future."

    Of course 2.50 should be compatible to files created with older versions…

    hey guys, even if things become incompatible, mancandy will get updates to work with future versions of blender.
    for instance, there is already a mancandy 2.1 version that works with blender SVN – since there are some bugfixes in the new constraints that make the old buggy ones incompatible.
    the principles are all the same, and the animations should work exactly the same on both mancandies.
    blender 2.5x will probably get it's own mancandy version (not just for bugfixes, but to take advantage of awesome new rigging features) however, the changes are always evolutionary- so you should recognize a lot of the old rig in the newer versions.
