Interview with Andy Goralczyk

3

BlenderGuru.com interviews Andy Goralczyk.

Andrew Price wrote:

Hey Blendernation editors,

I recently had the opportunity to interview the great Andy Goralczyk and I've published the interview on Blender Guru.

During the interview Andy talks about the biggest mistake 3d artists today are making, as well as why he's stayed with blender for over 10 years.

Andy has given some great no-nonsense advice about how to get better renders, in some very well thought out responses.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. I think the great thing about Andy Goralczyk is that he seeks to do his own thing.
But sometimes he doesnt really understand americans and their bloated ways of expressing admiration. Or maybe he does all to well.
I think most of his work is/was on the front of blenders capabilities because he spends so much time with it. Being part of NaN's content team I've seen him around blender for a long time, and his work has featured on all NaN's exhibits. Not because it was so damn good, but because it proved a single person could express himself in 3d with blender is a motion story. Back then I was under the impression that all people like to create, which in fact, most people dont, most people like to be entertained. Just a few like to create.

Today I find one of his best qualities, is to presevere in getting it done and getting it done right.

    Anyway, great stuff.
